Corona Forestal, Tenerife, Canary Islands

The Corona Forestal is luxuriant forest surrounding all of El Teide National Park, through which you pass to access the higher-altitude located and drier martian landscapes of the volcano national park. The sea of clouds is a natural phenomenon due to the trade winds, which push the clouds against the mountains of the north and northeast of the island. The warmer winds from higher altitudes then prevent these clouds from rising, maintaining them at an altitude of +/- 1800 meters.
